The year round seaside town
Apart from the wealth of attractions in Sheringham itself there is always something going on or somewhere to explore nearby. The following are easily accesible from Picaroons:
Getting Around - public transport
Coasthopper busses. The best way to travel up and down the coast
Stagecoach busses. Our local bus service.
Abelio greateranglia. Timetables for our national rail line (The station is just a short walk)
North Norfolk Railway. Not public transport but a nice way to travel to Holt. It also stops at Weybourne.

Things to Do
Stargazing and Star Parties
The night skies in North Norfolk are reknowned for their clarity. Just four miles from Picaroons, Kelling Heath is situated in the heart of the rural North Norfolk countryside, well away from any intrusive lighting. It is reknowned as one of the darkest sites in the country with an unrivalled view of the night sky. As well as marvelling at the Milky Way we can see crystal clear views of other planetary neighbours which we probably haven't been able to discern elsewhere.
Because of this the Norwich Astronomical Society organise twice yearly star parties at Kelling Heath, attended by hundreds of astronomers from all over the country. The autumn event is thought to be the largest star party in Europe.
Star Parties in 2017
The Spring Star party is 19th to 26th April
The Autumn Star party is from 20th to 24th September
